Customer contacted us on 23/1/22 to request a Landlords/home owners gas SAFETY certificate informing us that British Gas had serviced and condemned the gas fire until parts were fitted.
I attended on the 14/2/22 to find that parts had been fitted by who I can only presume is a non gas safe registered engineer.
I conducted my SAFTEY checks as laid out by gas safe and the manufacturer’s instructions in the presence of the customer and issued the correct certification.
Customer contacted us on the 22/2/22 to report a problem with the gas fire.
I attended on 28/2/22 and found the ignition mechanism was faulty, I repaired this and also adjusted the burner pressure to be thorough and I explained this to
The checks carried out were for safety only and does not now make me responsible for the ongoing mechanical operation of the gas fire.
The certificate issued was in relation to the safe operation of the gas fire.
As the fault to the gas fire was not related to Safety check’s carried out the visit is chargeable and this was also explained to the customer
