Avoid: Routine van visit inflated to £924 via stacked fees
Avoid: Exploitative £308/hr billing loop. They charge £150/hr labor plus a separate, compounding 'Plant' tool fee of £79 per half-hour. A routine van visit with zero parts cost a staggering £924 for under 3 hours. The engineer tried to claim he needed to dig up my lawn, but cleared it 10 mins after my partner refused, then quoted £500+VAT for a cheap valve replacement. No heavy plant machinery or tanker was on site. Checkatrade averages are £180-£400. Stacking fees is an unfair double-charging trap. Unblock drain
Had a blocked drain, and asked First Local Services to unblock. Josh advised that during unblocking, they noticed some resistance later down the pipeline and recommended a camera survey would be sensible. CCTV MENA inspection of all drains on my property.
Glenn and Ty were polite, they tried to understand what I was asking of the inspection. They looked for solutions to try and ensure the job was done. Unfortunately, it had to be done over two separate visits due to light conditions and some additional material needed to go down a pump well. I have yet to receive the report but have been given a deadline to expect it by. Glenn verbally gave me the report and explained what had been done and what had been found. Avoid!
AVOID! We have dealing with the company for well over a year and all we have had is problem after problem. The initial problem has finally been solved however other damage has been caused around the house due to their negligence. Blocked garden drain, cause by limescale build up!
Arrived on time for our first appointment and diagnosed the issues. He returned and completed the job with a pressure hose to remove the limescale build up which caused the pipe to block. A very pleasant man, who worked efficiently and was very friendly. Company was ok, supposed miscommunication when booking my second visit, where I had to chase his no-show. But they booked him the following day. Issue was their end, not his fault. Also company didn’t send the video of our drain, as promised, after job completion.
