id heard some suspect reviews of this firm but thought id try anyway. The were supposed to visit and try and fix whereas they just visited and told me what i already had told them, then sent me a laughable quote to repair.

Rang Gem on a Monday and booked a appointment with them for the Friday morning Booked a day off work, sat in all day and no sign of anyone. No phone call to say they would be late or unable to attend or email. Rang Gem at around 3:30 and they didnt know why the engineer hadn't shown up. Asked me if I would like to rearrange the appointment and said I wouldn't because of the waste of my time and the zero communication on their part. Would not recommend to anyone

Simply outstanding! I’ve used Gem many times in the past and will continue to use them in the future. Not only are they easy to talk to but they give advice and ideas which allow you to consider everything you’ve requested. The guys that carried out the work are all very friendly and really want to make sure you’re happy. On this job the Velux windows were fitted to a character farmhouse and they left everything in a state of perfection. Superb end result guys!

Access to the roof was very tricky; the scaffold tower wouldn't fit due to our garden wall being so close to the house, so Gary quickly arranged for a cherry picker to be delivered (within the hour!) which resolved the issue. The coping stones were all removed, cleaned and then fitted back in place with a supporting bracket. GEM really did an exceptional job, it looks fantastic and their team were friendly and approachable. They even cleaned up after themselves, before they left!
