new solar panel inverter installed and new consumer units installed to reach legal requirements
I had just thought that my inverter needed a new connector and wiring but it turned out there were bigger problems that needed addressing. It was costly but at least now I have a system with surge cut offs that I didn't have before and my new inverter is already showing a much better input level.
