We're really happy with the work that Gavin and Josh have done and as you can tell from the photos the look of the house has been transformed. Other than the excellent work, one of the things that really stood out for us was Gavin's excellent communication. From the initial quote to the finish Gavin was very quick to get back to us and kept us informed about timelines for the work and any problems they encountered as the work was being done. The quote provided was itemised which meant it was easy to compare with others and the cost was very reasonable. When some of the stones arrived and were damaged Gavin was very quick to solve the problem so that the work was not disrupted and there was no additional cost to us. Gavin and Josh were both very polite and made an effort to minimise any inconvenience and to tidy up. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!

Repointing Cotswold stone cottage The work was carried out to a high standard. The old mortar was raked out, the stonework repaired where needed and repointed with the correct sand/lime mortar. The new pointing blends in with and enhances the existing stonework. Gavin and Josh were friendly and professional, they turned up when they said they would and left the site tidy at the end of each days work. We would unhesitatingly recommend them.

Gavin repointed our limestone house, which turned out to be quite a tricky job. Some stones needed replacing and there were several non-standard aspects to deal with, but he handled everything really well. The quality of the work is excellent and he was a pleasure to deal with. I’d have no hesitation recommending him.

I am extremely happy with the repointing work carried out on my home recently by G J Mines Brickwork. There was one main repair that needed doing, but it was agreed that some smaller less urgent jobs could be carried out on the same visit, as time allowed. Josh worked non-stop and got everything done that was on the list, and the quality of the work is excellent - everything looks great. Communication with Gavin beforehand was very easy - very quick to reply to messages, and I did not have to wait too long for a date to be available for the work. We had a stone gate post that was leaning precariously towards the street. I sent a description on checkatrade and Gavin got back the same evening. He was very straight forward about the work needed and how much it would cost. We immediately felt reassured that he would do a careful and good job. Communication and tidying the area was good throughout. We are very proud of our newly restored garden wall. Thank you Gavin.

Fixed our front garden wall beautifully, transforming it from an almost-toppling eyesore to something that neighbours wanted as well. Kept us informed of schedule changes due to bad weather etc. Creative suggestions, admirable industry, tidied up spick and span. Straightforward about prices and expenses. Highly recommended.
