    Paul has been out to our property twice and offered invaluable advice on a tricky problem - in the end we didn’t need him to do the job for us but he was so helpful and knowledgeable that I wanted to put this review up. He went the extra mile to think the issues through carefully and figure out the best solution for us, even though it meant no work for him, and refused to invoice for “only advice”. I would not hesitate to call him for any future work or recommend him to anyone for pest issues. He clearly knows his stuff and explained everything very clearly and professionally.

    Paul turned up exactly when he said he would and within minutes had confirmed the problem was due to rats. Over a series of visits over the Christmas period Paul ruled out various possibilities and eventually tracked down the source of the problem to a damaged sewer pipe. This pipe needs Thames Water to repair so Paul put some mitigating fixes in to reduce the impact until the pipe gets repaired. Overall very happy. Paul’s detective work identified the root of a problem that has been reoccurring for almost a year.

Company info

My name is Paul Batts, I started this company over 12 years ago. This business works alongside my job as a Fire Fighter at Guildford Fire Station where I have been stationed for 22 years.

We are a family run business, my wife Paula is in the office and we have our long term employee Dominic and of course our trained rat catcher, Tess a Border Terrier, who is very handy to have when there is a rat in a kitchen.

We undertake all aspects of Pest & Vermin Control including: Wasps, hornets, bees, rats, mice, squirrels, foxes, moles, bed bugs, fleas, moths and bird proofing. 

Solar Panel Proofing

In recent years pigeons have become a problem nesting/roosting under solar panels, which is resulting in sleepless nights, damage to solar panels, guano mess and even bird mites entering the property.

We provide a free, no obligation quote to proof solar panels using different methods to prevent pigeons gaining access under the panels. Solar panel designs vary, we prefer to use 30mm galvanized mesh, which is fitted using UV resistant polycarbonate clips, which we now guarantee for 10 years.

For solar panels without a lip, we use BirdGo spikes which are glued to the edge of the solar panel, we guarantee this for 3 years. You can see from our pictures the types we provide.

Rodent Proofing

A common mistake that a lot of people make is buying traps and bait from hardware stores and sometimes succeed in eliminating the current problem, however 9 times out of 10 this does not stop the problem from recurring. We specialize in finding ingress/egress points and proof any entry points found.

There is a wide variety of issues to cover, which start from above ground to underground and adjoining properties. With squirrels and mice it is generally quite straight forward but with rats in can be much more complex. They can gain access through the drainage system, through all kinds of defects, such as displaced joints, buried manholes, old connections etc.

We have our own CCTV equipment and high pressure water jetting equipment for clearing debris. We carry out all repairs ourselves as I have a good friend, Jay, who has been a drainage engineer for over 30 years and works alongside us if needed for more complex jobs, such as, no dig re-lining using epoxy resins.
