    I’ve just had a staircase refurbishment carried out and am delighted with the result which has really transformed the look of the room. The work was carried out to a very high standard and the area was left completely tidy afterwards. I am extremely satisfied with the price paid and the quality of the finished product. Richard was very helpful throughout the whole process, explaining what needed to be done and kept me aware of timeframes and progress throughout. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Richard and HG Froud and Son.

Hello and welcome to HG Froud & Son. Established as a local sawmill in 1947 in Verwood, we're now into our 4th generation of woodworkers!


We a specialize in bespoke Joinery products for both domestic, trade and commercial industries.


Manufacturing in house, Staircases, Windows, Internal & External Doors and Frames and Entrance Gates, as well as Staircase Refurbishments. All using sustainable Softwoods, Hardwoods and Oak We offer both a supply only and supply & fitting services to our own products.


Richard and the team believe in nothing other than good workmanship, quality products and above all brilliant customer service.


We don't offer 1st or 2nd fix carpentry services, i.e. door hanging, stud walls etc.
