Conversion of the garage and reconfiguration of downstairs and upstairs
We couldn't be happier with the work HLG did for us on our house. They were friendly, punctual, tidy and most importantly took pride in their work ensuring everything was completed to a very high standard. They were good at making suggestions for improvements and also in giving recommendations for other suppliers for products such as crittal style doors and parquet floor refurbishment. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and would definitely use them again if we ever have another project!
Side and rear extension - single storey
Ongoing build but amazing service and support to date. Simon and the team are great, diligent, quiet and most importantly when we have hit issues across the build they have worked hard to resolve them owning the problem for us!

HLG have been very professional right from the initial contact. Communication was good and we felt sure our build was in safe hands. The team work hard and to a high standard, are super punctual and have been very considerate of the fact that we are still living on site during the works, tidying up thoroughly at the end of every day. Any problems or extras have been discussed and agreed to find the best solutions and ensure no unaccounted for costs at the end of the project. We couldn't be more pleased with the work to date.
Ground floor extension
As soon as I met Simon and Tim, I knew they were the right team to trust with the development of our build. Simon was brilliant at keeping us informed, as well as providing immediate solutions to unforeseen challenges that arose, in addition to navigating tight access, negotiating with water services and working closely with kitchen suppliers. (All whilst dealing with Covid restrictions too). HLG delivered to budget and we’re so pleased with the end result, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend HLG to others planning their project.
Single story extension and ground floor remodel.
Houghton Lewis have been a pleasure to work with right from the planning stage to completion of our build. Great communication, excellent project management, and first class work from all of the trades involved in completing the build. HLG worked with our architects and structural engineer pre-build to achieve both improvements in design and cost savings. As well as the work being of an excellent standard, we were able to live in the property throughout and HLG made sure we had essential services. We would highly recommend HLG, and wouldn't consider doing a future extension without them!
Ground floor extension to back of house
We are thrilled with the finished result - its exactly as we envisaged it. Simon, Tim and the all the guys who worked on the job have been amazing. They have accommodated all our requests and even made a few suggestions of their own which have enhanced the finish. We only moved out for a week during the build, other than that we were living on site (c4 months) and they were very respectful of our home, making it as comfortable as possible for us to live. We would highly recommend HLG not only for the quality of their work but also for their total focus on the customer experience.
Building outdoor office
Another great job completed by HLG! The team worked hard to complete the office (and storage) in 3 weeks and I am delighted with the results. The finish both inside and outside are of very high quality. When deciding to build the office, there was no other team I would have asked to do it (they also built my extension in 2020). Thanks again!
Ground Floor Extension and remodel
Houghton Lewis were recommended to us and we are very glad we took the recommendation. From the very beginning they were very helpful in getting us the best price for the job, and offering up solutions to problems as they arose. They managed the build from start to finish and the team lead by Simon and Tim were professional, tidy and friendly throughout, willing to change aspects of the build as we went along and always checked that we were happy with what was happening on site. The quality of the build is of a very high standard and they take a pride in their job.
Rear extension, loft conversion and complete internal renovation
We undertook a major renovation of our whole property which included a large rear extension, loft conversion and renovation of every room (wiring, plumbing, bathrooms etc.). We also lived in for the vast majority of the c. 9 months work. I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of their work which was carried out to the highest of standards. The whole HLG team was highly professional and brought in a number of top quality sub contractors (plastering, plumbing, roofing) too. They have also been very responsive in remedying any issues that have arisen after the works are complete.
Conservatory and Garage Conversion
Very good and versatile building company and very pleased with my new conservatory and garage conversion. All of the HLG team did a great job and were a pleasure to work with from Laura in the office to Paul and Gabe on the ground and of course Tim and Simon too. Good dialogue throughout the work with helpful advice and flexibility and all work carried out with minimum mess and disruption. Would be happy to recommend HLG.
