Jim has completed the second and final phase of our job (see review dated April 2023). He achieved the texture and colour we had hoped for and we are very pleased with the completed cills. He is a very easy tradesperson to work with, involving us in decisions relating to the work. The job was dependent on the right weather. Jim kept in touch with us and we always knew when to expect him.

Would whole heartedly recommend J Matthews Building services. Jim put in a great deal of thought into the project drawing on his many years of experience resulting in a sympathetic build and internal works that preserves the character of our Victorian house. Jim’s work was also praised by other contractors on site for the quality of its accuracy and finishing. We are delighted with the outcome.

Jim is carrying out his work for us in two phases, working round another contractor. Throughout he has been supportive and helpful and given us sound advice on how to go about the work to achieve the best results. We are looking forward to completion of the second phase of his work.

It gives us real pleasure to look at the rebuilt wall. Jim is a craftsman with high standards and worked to achieve a finish that was in keeping with the residual 1930’s wall. He is easy to talk with and looks beyond the “obvious” to get the best result.

Jim completed 70 sqm of repointing himself. His service from start to finish was exemplary, as was the quality of the completed works. He also efficiently organised the scaffolding. Jim is experienced, knowledgable and very friendly to boot, whilst keeping everything clean and tidy as was practical. Would thoroughly recommend to others.
