  Gutter Repair

Kingfisher repaired a gutter on our porch which wasn't draining properly. It was fixed promptly and at a good price. We didn't even need to be at home :). They also provided a video to show that the repair had been successful. Really happy with this job!

  Rampant Overcharge/ Coercive behaviour

I hired Kingfisher Roofing through Checkatrade to repair roof flashing. During the work, they identified additional roof issues and advised urgent remedial work, warning of potentially costly future damage. I agreed to a £7,000 quote and paid a £4,000 deposit. The work was completed in two days, and I paid the balance. Later, after comparing quotes and researching typical costs, I found similar work would usually cost around £3,200. I believe I was significantly overcharged and influenced by pressure tactics. I offer the advice to be very mindful of any dealings you may have with this company. Running alongside my property is an area of council bushes which has been cut back in the last 2 weeks. It is clear to me as a householder that Kingfisher deposited the old ridge tiles from my roof, which they replaced, in this public area. Fly-tipping in the UK is an offence.

Response from Kingfisher Plastics & Roofing (OF YARM) - Installation Specialists

I feel this is very unfair. I take great pride in my work and always provide a full quotation before any work begins, so the customer knows exactly what the job will cost and what is included. All of the agreed work has been completed to a high standard for exactly the price quoted — not a penny more. The work has been completed correctly, there are no issues with the job, and the relevant guarantees have been provided. I therefore find it disappointing when, after all the agreed work has been completed properly and at the agreed price, I am then asked to reduce the final bill.
