  • Stained glass repair

    Knowles did an excellent job on the stained glass in my door. The ~160 year old panels had several cracked panes and the lead was coming loose; Knowles removed them, fitted temporary replacements, redid all the lead, replaced the cracked panels and sourced an artist to replicate a painted panel before refitting the whole thing. My door panels now look much better than before and the repair has been done to a super high standard, so Knowles are clearly excellent craftspeople. Recommended without hesitation.

  • Repair and encapsulation of four stained glass windows

    Knowles Glasswork did an excellent job of repairing, cleaning and encapsulating four 1930's stained glass porthole windows, which were very tired, dirty, prone to condensation and in need of repair. They removed the stained glass windows, put temporary glazing in their place and then refitted the windows once they had been encapsulated. I am delighted with the result - the windows look beautiful and there is no more condensation.

    Having previously used Knowles Glassworks during a property renovation I had no hesitation in contacting them when I had an internal leak from one of my stained glass windows. Sharon, as always was a pleasure to deal with, and visited my property to resolve the issue despite it being a small job on the south coast. This is absolutely a premium service in looking after previous customers in such a generous way, as I've certainly not experienced service so good anywhere else. The job was carried out quickly, cleanly and let the property very tidy. Thank you Sharon

    We called for a non-urgent issue, a few days before Christmas, expecting to book the work in some time after Christmas. Instead, the company attended later that morning, fixed the issue on the spot, and did not ask for payment. They were very punctual and polite. We really could not have asked for more!

I've worked in my father's glass business for over two decades and now Knowles Glassworks continues the family business based in Horley, Surrey near Gatwick. We cover a wide area the South of England and have a vast portfolio of work we provide. Our service to you is 100% to achieve 100% satisfaction. "Small enough to care, large enough to cope." 

I gained considerable knowledge and experience working on all types of buildings from houses, schools and offices to churches and even cathedrals. I take pride in all the work we do and the services we provide. From replacement with new products to restoration of old.

Perfected over the past 25 years and one of the forerunners of providing a service where we have been encapsulating triple glazing our customer genuine traditional leaded light windows. Retaining the existing coloured and stained glass windows, preserving and protecting the beauty of stained glass, whilst adding extra security, protection and insulation to their homes. 

New uPVC windows, composite doors supplied and fitted and again, we can encapsulate triple glaze existing or design new bespoke leaded light creations to make your home truly unique and different to other homes in your neighbourhood.
