Hello, I am Keith, owner of K Services,

With many happy and returning customers over the last 20 years, you can be assured of being well looked after. I aim to provide a stress-free service, delivered in a manner that I am confident will exceed your expectations.

A little about me

I started my career working for British Aerospace as an engineer within the aerospace industry, my many years of engineering experience followed by becoming a fully qualified vehicle technician and MOT examiner have given me the ability to solve problems professionally.

I have worked on a variety of vehicles as a main dealer technician including Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, and Vauxhall specialising in Mazdas including all import models such as the Mazda Bongo, I also worked in many independent garages. I offer a mobile garage service that puts customer satisfaction on top of the list every time!

Work is carried out by myself and I will be your single point of contact. My customers have become accustomed to the quality of my workmanship which has been achieved through many years of experience and sourcing quality parts from reputable suppliers.

I am flexible with my working hours and out-of-hour appointments can be arranged.

Vehicle Electrics

Modern vehicles have several independent electrical systems. These include things such as your vehicle's lights, central locking, windows, heaters, sunroofs, stereos, alarms, engine management, and sensors - the list is almost endless! One look at the modern fuse box confirms how many separate electrical circuits are contained within your vehicle.

Finding electrical faults can be time-consuming, this is where having the latest technology and experience combined with technical know-how helps K Services provide an efficient fault-finding service. I am confident in my ability to diagnose the cause of your electrical fault and rectify it putting your vehicle back on the road as quickly as possible.

Vehicle Diagnostics

The first you may be aware of a fault is when the engine management warning light shows on your dashboard, this means a fault has been registered and stored.

Some vehicles enter what is known as a "limp home mode" - this could restrict the rev range to protect your engine from damage and will mean you have limited power so caution must be taken when driving under these conditions.

If you experience any of the above after turning off your vehicle's engine, restarting the vehicle and the engine management light remains on or you continue to be in limp mode, K Services recommends having diagnostics run on your vehicle at your earliest convenience to ensure the safety of the vehicle, yourself and passengers.

Vehicle Diagnostics - Fault finding

K Services uses the very latest electronic diagnostic equipment to safely access your vehicle's ECU. The diagnostic equipment reads information from the vehicle including fault codes, this information allows me to better understand exactly what the problems are with the vehicle from a faulty sensor to anything more serious that could potentially become a severe issue.

Modern vehicles store information on their ECU (Electronic Control Unit)

Modern fuel-injected cars all have an ECU which is like the brain of the vehicle, controlling all the parameters to keep it running smoothly. When a fault occurs it is registered on the ECU like a memory, vehicle diagnostic technicians can plug into the brain of your vehicle and read the stored memories which can alert us to any ongoing or previous faults.

It is a good idea as part of any service to run diagnostics allowing me to diagnose any previous faults that have been stored on the vehicle, this could also provide an early warning of potential future problems.
