    Full renovation: rewiring, decoration, new bathroom and kitchen etc

    It was actually my surveyor who pointed me in the direction of Madeira Construction (which impressed me from the outset). Despite the scale and complexity of my project, their quote was very competitive. They even passed their supplier discounts onto me! Jorge and his team are meticulous. The standard of their work is exceptional – how they've made my dilapidated flat look as good as it does now, I do not know. Communication was great, too – Luisa was fab and kept everything well organised. I've got more work planned soon, which shows how much I rate them. Highly recommended, 10/10.

    Partial demolition ,converting detached house to two semidetached house

    I believe the work done is not to the standard. 80% of money given and half of the job done . They left the job more than a year. This week they demand more money on top of agreed contract. Job started in july 2018 , verbal completion date was march 2019. Last year they asked for money for kitchen and flooring material to be delivered , we have gave money at that time,but never delivered materials. They made the changes to drawings with out our consent.(changed bathroom and Kitchen positions) since mid November 2019 we paid more than £92000 for materials to be delivered we have not seen

    We have been carrying out the work in accordance with regulations and have always been in contact with the customer as we were visited on regular basis. Have always communicated with the customer about any problems or changes and customer has always agreed to do and make good. Customer was quoted for a medium standard finish and was always expecting and demanding a higher quality at the same cost. A lot of extra work done that the customer was informed but not wanting extra cost. When the work had to be done the customer stated that Money is not a problem, just do what you need to do. Last payment made was in May 2019 for £5000.00 and we have had workers there several times without getting any funds. Had organised a meeting but only one of the customers came and when we have put across all points then customer just walked out not wanting to listen. Have tried to get things resolved in a good manner but did not manage as unfortunately the customer does not wish to comply and is denying any previous agreement.

    Loft Conversion

    2 years ago Luisa and Jorge did a loft conversion for us. Recently we had a leak around one of the Velux windows on the flat roof they installed. We explained this to them and they came and resealed the roof. We are getting some strong rain now and there is no problem with leaking. They are a great team, very helpful and reliable, I cannot recommend them highly enough. Thank You.

    Refurbishment of one bedroom house with extension

    Atrocious workmanship - brickwork so bad property had tone rendered, didn't install copper piping as requested used push fit which caused leaks to ceiling which still hasn't been completed, they had the house empty and did not do what they promised to do, just got trust me, we know there is a time limit - which they took no notice of and then when I got upset with them because of leaking ceilings they dumped me and didn't finish all the snagging and outstanding jobs, I had suffered from cancer and had suffered a great deal stress and they couldn't have cared less. Despicable and dishonest

    We are sorry to have received this review, we have been professional in our approach to responding to the customer. There were leaks in the house that where promptly fixed and no mention of the plumbing in cooper pipes. I have been to her house twice to take a snagging list and told to leave for another day. I had asked numerous times for a list which has not been provided. The last time I went to see the customer she was very rude and abusive towards me told me to get out of the house. We have always tried to resolve these issues, but do not wish to return due to her behaviour. She still owes money. We take pride in our work and will always try and resolve issues when they arise to ensure the customer is happy with our work.

    Loft extension.

    The loft of the house had a small amount of work done by the previous occupant and as a result to commence work this had to be made safe. The chimney breast had to be removed, walls taken back to brick, new floors and ceilings completed. Adjacent to the loft a shower room and lavatory were built. To access the top floor, room and shower room, a flight of stairs had to be constructed; these were imaginatively completed to the highest standard. The whole work was completed in good time, with minimum fuss, and the result was excellent. A wall to wall cupboard was also built by the team.

    New kitchen fitted

    Incomplete job- pebbledashing not complete. Painted kitchen, got paint on tiles, didnt clean up, paint doesnt come off. When working on roof they took off some tiles in upstairs bathroom, didn't re tile afterwards. Chased for months no help. They were meant to do other work in my house-living room, hallway but it was probably not enough profit for them, that is when I got the line from Luisa we are VAT registered, we have to charge 20% additionally for the work quoted.

    We had completed the pebble dash but due to weather a few had come off and we stated that we would repair it. We looked for the same type of pebble but was very hard to find and I did mention that to the customer’s son. We have cleaned the paint from the floor, what the customer was expecting was for us to buff the floor with a big machine. We did go there to do snagging, even covering existing holes in the boiler cupboard as they were scared of mice. We have been VAT registered since December 2014 and even if we had quoted for the seating room before, it was work untouched and if starting after being VAT registered our obligation was to charge for it. We did not want to go back as they were very rude. Not trusting us and accusing us of wanting to keep the VAT is not nice as we are here to help people and not to steal. There is a little money to be paid to us but I did not go chasing them. Good luck to them.
