Our boiler wasn't working so I asked Mark Anthony to mend it so we had hot water and heating. He claims he got the boiler working after 8 hours and 3 visits, but there was a blockage in the system so we still had no heat to all but one radiator at which point I started to feel like he was just racking up hours of work and the bill getting higher which I think is confirmed by his £600 invoice. Foolishly I didn't get a quotation so felt obliged to pay his invoice to get rid of him. He also emailed me a quotation of £4000 to supply and fit new boiler.
Response from Mark Anthony Plumbing and Heating
We attended the customer’s property and the boiler was showing signs of an issue with the diverter valve as heat was passing into the heating flow. We ordered parts and returned. On replacing it was found that the auto bypass valve was missing from the boiler. The customer did not advise till this point that another engineer had worked on the boiler. The previous engineer had removed this part. I then ordered part and return again while I was off sick as really wanted to get the part fitted. On fitting this part, we found other issues, we then stripped the entire boiler to clean out all parts and pipework as the system was filthy and then found the return pipework was also blocked which require power flushing or cut out and updating pipework. The invoice provided had £192 of parts and chemicals and we reduced the hours on fault finding and cleaning on the boiler as a good will gesture. The customer requested a quotation to replace the pipework as he had decided to go this route. We also offered further discount on replacing boiler, pipework and gas supply as a good will gesture. We always operate in a professional manner, we always carry out the workmanship to a high level and am very upset with the comments provided by this customer.
