I do not recommend Mawhinney Maintenance. I needed a new sink, new taps & worktops installed in my kitchen. Several problems occurred during the work: Damaged & split worktop during fitting, poorly fitted taps, incorrectly fitted waste p-trap which collapsed and leaked water everywhere but the worst problem of all was Andy removing my gas stove. Only qualified Corgi installers are permitted to work with gas. Andy is not a qualified registered Corgi installer. He removed the gas stove which caused a dangerous gas leak. My house smelt of gas: I was very upset,worried for my family's safety.

Really excellent work. Super communicative and flexible. Would highly recommend! Did plastering and installed an extractor fan.

The team were very punctual, with great communication at all times. They carried out all the work we needed to an excellent standard. Highly recommended.

One new roof. Seven months to complete. Three price rises. Six missed completion dates. One disappointed client. I had to invoke the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to try and get the job finished. Even though I had paid £9,900 of the £12,800, and it was agreed that the remainder would be paid on completion, I was threatened that Andy would not return unless I paid another £1,900 as their staff would not be paid because of me, and he had three children to support. All this has been logged with the consumer council, and they advised writing an honest review at the end of the process.

Mawhinney Maintenance and Building carried out work for us this summer (2025), creating an open plan kitchen area with a new kitchen. We were very happy with all aspects of the work carried out - Andy and team did a fantastic job (including organising building control) and I have no hesitation in recommending this company for any type of building or renovation work.

Andy and his team were excellent, they carried out all the repairs to a very high standard, Andy himself is a very talented builder with great knowledge. I can't thank them enough for the work they carried out. Clean and efficient.
