  Highly skilled cabinetry

  I thoroughly recommend Michael James Carpentry. He is a highly skilled cabinet maker and made a beautiful pair of alcove units in a Victorian style for me. He is punctual, hard working, professional yet friendly, and leaves everything clean and tidy at the end of each day.

  Best carpenter ever!

  Michael is impressive, installing bespoke fitted bedroom wardrobes, removing end banister in hallway and maximising under stairs storage with pull out drawers, shoe rack and utility cupboard. He is punctual, communicates well and takes pride in his work. Michael is very tidy and leaves area clear every day (new fitted wardrobes were substantially cheaper than Sharps). Michael adapted to suit us as work progressed and gave practical advice when asked. He is trustworthy , cheerful and easy to have working in the house. We would def use again!

  Alcove shelving

  Our family have used Michael several times, so his high quality job was no surprise. We required shelving in both alcoves in our front room. He visited us to discuss and made some good suggestions from which we selected our preferred approach. He next sent us a CAD drawing to agree, then built to spec. His design is much more than just shelves but rather complete made to measure units built into both alcoves, extending slightly out from each with no gaps and a wrap-around decorative headpiece providing a very professional finish and giving the room a very attractive look.

  Another top job!

  This is the fourth time that we have had Michael in to carry out some work and yet again he has completed the project (a built in wardrobe) with precision, courtesy and quality. At each stage, Michael communicates well and gives his professional advice for the best outcome. He is always on time and cleans up thoroughly. I have receommeded Michael to friends and would not hestitate in recommending him to anyone.

  Staircase refurbishment / update

  Michael is very diligent and an excellent craftsman who I would highly recommend. His work is precise with good attention to detail and I would not hesitate to reinstruct him should I need a reliable carpenter.

  New large shed floor and joists

  Michael was fast efficient. He was great at problem solving and didn't hide what he saw as issues with he repair. He did a great job, really tidy and cleaned up completely afterward. Michael is very polite, friendly and reliable. Will not hesitate to ask him back with further work.
