Pioneers in Green Home Improvement

Our Services:

We refurbish UPVC windows and doors

Handles, hinges, and door furniture along with misted or broken sealed units. In some instances, we can replace the whole window including the UPVC frames (Please see VIDEO)

We repair or upgrade broken UPVC or wood roofline sections

For smaller repairs and alterations to roofline, cladding and around bay-windows (Please see VIDEO)

We retro-fit trickle-vents to existing windows

This can help with air circulation and dampness. Trickle-vents are REQUIRED in new build properties and can be fitted if required to windows that did not include them on installation (Please see VIDEO)

NOWSEE leads the way in taking a holistic approach to the replacement of windows. We have partnered with businesses who think similarly and place recycling and efficient distribution at the top of the priority list. We invest 50% of our profits into a fund created to switch all our vehicles to electric power. We are currently on track to achieve this goal by late 2023. Our business premises have been built with 100% recycled materials for the groundwork and constructed from steel and responsibly sourced timber. The business is not connected to the National Grid and relies entirely on locally generated solar power.

OUR CUSTOMERS benefit from our industry leading refurbishment techniques and long-lasting products. With careful treatment and thorough cleaning windows over 30 years old can look as good as new.

Eco-friendly solutions

The glass in a double-glazed window is the primary factor in achieving good energy efficiency. We offer:

Soft coat, a clear Low Emissivity Glass with a coating on the inside of the inner pane that reflects heat back into the building giving thermal insulation performance, this is standard for A+ rated windows

Planitherm 1.0, a superior glass range designed to give you the most advanced thermal insulation performance

Unit efficiency

ALL our replacement sealed units are filled with 90% argon gas.

Argon gas fills reduce heat loss in our sealed units by slowing down convection inside the air space. Filling the gap between the glass panes with a low-inductivity gas such as argon improves window performance by reducing conductive and convective heat transfers. It can also reduce condensation keeping moisture away from your paintwork and curtains/blinds

More than just glass

We can replace the gaskets (Seals around the glass) in the majority of windows giving them a new lease of life and reducing drafts. We replace, refurbish, and securely refit troublesome handles and ageing hinges. …and one final touch. We clean your windows inside and out removing the grime and damage caused by time.

The final, final touch. Your new sealed units are covered by a 10-year guarantee and will be replaced for £35

Tons and Tons of Waste

The United Kingdom and Ireland collected and recycled nearly 145,000 metric tons of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic scrap last year, according to Recovinyl, an organisation dedicated to encouraging vinyl recycling in Europe. Sounds good

With a PVC recycling rate of 18.6 percent, the U.K. was second only to Germany. Axion, which monitors this sector in the UK say PVC window profiles accounted for more than 85,000 metric tons of the vinyl scrap collected and processed in 2019. The problem here is that nearly 457,000 metric tons of the vinyl scrap from the replacement window industry went straight to landfill. This figure will increase dramatically because of COVID-19 which has halted much recycling activity

These numbers inspired NOWSEE to tackle the problem at source. By delaying the installation of new windows, in some cases by many years, we can make a real difference.

Make The Right Choice

According to the UK’s biggest UPVC Window installer “around 18% of the total heat within a house is lost through the windows. This heat loss through windows is caused by radiation through glazing, convection and conducted through the window frame”.

They also say, “A typical gas heated, semi-detached house could save approximately £120-155 a year” (By installing new windows)

We are happy for you to do the maths, but may we just say that doesn’t sound like a great return on investment. We can offer a greener and more cost-effective solution
