Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) commissioned plus remedial work

    Posted 04 November 2021

Electrical Installation Condition Report for rental property was carried out and a fair charge was made (£150). The system did not pass due to a RCD on the consumer unit that was not tripping in the required time. This and 3 ceiling roses needed replacing. A modified EICR was provided. The total charge for the remedial work was a further £300. At the time I thought this was acceptable and the work was carried out on a Saturday morning. However the parts for this would not have cost in excess of £75 and so my opinion is that an excessive charge was made. I will NOT be using P Mack again.

    Response from P Mack Services

yes i agree the price seem to be high but was carrying out work through a property management company which take a commission of twenty per cent i am always willing to look at the cost but its a bit late after i have been paid and the work done i only wish he had spoke regarding cost before .

Peter was knowledgeable, hard working and didn’t leave the job until he was certain everything was sorted. Very neat and tidy too.

Fit 20 downlighters into newly plastered ceiling and power point for the boiler.

    Posted 21 August 2020

Fit 20 downlighters into a plastered ceiling and fit a power point in the loft for the new boiler. The downlighters fitted in a grid pattern 5 rows of 4. Unfortunately they snake across the ceiling (not in straight lines), they look terrible! One of the ceiling joists has been cut into by over 70% of it's width a builder said it is dangerous and will need reinforcing. The power point has not been fitted just an extension lead left, the plumber was shocked. Scratches left on the new floor. My wife rang to complain and he hung up on her. Now he has sent a bill. We have been quoted £950 to make good.
