Called as own electrician away. Arrived later than said, at a loss over what to do. Tested? Said he’d isolated a socket. Stood on WC seat to get to RCD box and cracked seat. Problem reoccurred next day and extra problems. Arrived, said couldn’t resolve, further extensive rewiring needed. To quote us that evening. Refunded callout. No quote recd, no contact or response to texts. Own electrician visited, found socket not isolated as said. Obvious damage to wiring not detected by PDE. Own electrician suspects loose wiring in fuse box caused by previous work! Facing > £ to resolve. Not recommended.

I am extremely disappointed with this review as I feel it is unfair. I received the call out to an rcd fault on Friday morning while I was working in the same area. While I was looking for the fault I noticed there was a water leak behind the kitchen unit and some untidy old looking cable sitting in the puddle. When I removed that leg of cable the rcd reset and the fault was no longer present. Any electrician will tell you that sometimes you think you have found the fault when you are fault finding an intermittent fault on a rcd but actually the fault recurs. This is what happened here and as soon as I returned to the property the very next day I refunded the client in full as I explained the fault was obviously still there. Can’t say fairer than that. No damage occurred during my time at the property to my knowledge. If I have been made aware of the damage recompense would have been made
