Cat flap and satellite dish removal
Josh and his colleague removed a cat flap, bricked up the exterior, reinstated the damp course and cavity wall insulation, and plastered the interior where the cat flap entry had been. They also removed a satellite dish. Josh did a brilliant job of matching the new brickwork to the existing wall. The pointing and plastering were precise. They diligently cleaned up after the work was done. Trustworthy, knowledgeable and professional
Josh and the team repointed a side wall of our 1920s home and did an amazing job. We had three quotes for the work and they were the only company which knew our period home needed lime mortar. Josh kept us fully informed at every stage of the process so we knew what to expect and when. All members of the team were courteous and considerate - both to us and our neighbours - which meant a lot. This is the second time that Practical Builders have worked for us and I can't recommend them more highly. House Pointing Work
Practical builders completed pointing work on my house. Josh was very quick to come and view the work and provided a wriiten quotation. The work was completed as planned to a good quality. Josh and team were very friendy and tidied up before they left. Communications were always good including the final invoice and payment. Repointing semi detached house
Practical Builders did an amazing job on our repointing for our semi detached house. From the very first phone call through to completion, Josh was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the whole process. He really went above and beyond, which is so rare to find these days. The boys were absolutely amazing when Repointing my three bed semi detached property in horsham. Josh was always in contact with updates which we found very helpful as it helped us plan our days as we both work from home and have phone calls we need to take. Hi there, we’re Practical Builders, a family-run building and landscaping business that takes pride in our workmanship and cares about our reputation.
I’m the owner of the company, and I studied brickwork at college for three years. I started working in the building industry at a young age, with a genuine passion for learning my trade, developing my skills and delivering work to the highest possible standard.
We have a particular focus on brickwork, repointing and identifying and resolving water ingress problems.
We believe that getting a repair right starts with understanding the cause of the problem, not simply treating the visible symptoms. Whether it’s deteriorating mortar, damaged brickwork or water penetrating through external masonry, we take a practical, thorough approach to identifying potential issues and recommending the appropriate remedial work.
Where problems involve multiple areas of a property, we can help identify potential sources of water ingress, explain what repairs may be required and advise which trades are best suited to carry out each part of the work.
