Repair failed. Independent survey took copious and close up photos and his report stated that in his opinion it was "very poor workmanship" and, "that the house owner should refer the work back to the repairer". The insurance rep' thought it "shoddy work". Despite numerous requests to return to the property, Mr Jakeman has cancelled giving either "poor weather conditions", "fully booked". "Not working in that area this week" or "illness". He doesn't answer my phone calls nor reply to my last email. I am currently in the process of contacting the CAB to have this company checked out.
Response from Pro Resin Roofing
In early 2022 the owner advised us they were selling and moving to Wales imminently, so we quoted for 3 areas of essential work, pointing of ridge tiles, replacing broken tiles and removing existing loose mortar in the valleys and replacing with new mortar being approximately 10% linear value of the valleys. This was the first time we visited the property so other builders or general deterioration were responsible for this existing roof condition. The total cost was £580, works were completed in February 2022. Since then we understand the owner tried to make an insurance claim which we understand was refused by the insurers ‘independent’ surveyor, who commented on the condition of the valleys. Given the period of time, it is likely other areas of the valleys had since deteriorated, we offered to revisit when the owner contacted us in February 2023, the owner got confused about their availability for an appointment over a seven day period so we couldn’t meet, since then it has rained virtually every day, remortaring requires dry weather. We were planning to provide this further repair as a gesture of goodwill and intended to do any reasonable amount of additional work free of charge
