Riccie was paid for more than what he achieved and then decided not to come back. Just before disappearing he asked for more money, and money to buy a sander; knowing he wasn't coming back! Riccie requested payments weekly, despite little evident progress. At the outset he asked for our trust, this was a mistake on our part. Promised a professional finish, complete within 5 weeks. 10 weeks later, not one area was complete; not good quality. We had to bring in another painter to fix what he left.
Response from Protech Decor
It is unfortunate that you have left a negative response.
The work duration was initially 5 weeks agreed however I did tell you that it may run over as I had to accommodate you moving and clearing rooms which took more time. At no point did you ask me to bring another painter to the job, you were ok about the timeframe.
I've got messages from you and the architect confirming the work was to a high standard.
We both agreed that I would come back within 7 days, however, within this time you posted a negative response on Yell. I can't understand why you did this when the work carried out was satisfactory, I was paid and the materials bought on my account.
After threatening messages and a bad review (even though I'd not finished everything) I asked you to kindly remove the review and put it in writing that you would pay the final balance, and agree to all the extras on the job, but you refused. I have kept all correspondence.
This left me with no choice but to cancel the last stage. I called you 3 times to discuss this with you but you did not pick up or return my calls.
I invested a lot of time on this job and have to ask that if the work wasn't satisfactory, why was I paid in progress payments for 7 and a half weeks?! I was not confident or trusting of you to return to your residence after the abusive email from your partner and feel that any other painter / decorator would act the same.
