We paid £10,000 for composite fencing, composite gate and to have our driveway and side garden laid with tarmac. We were advised by a structural engineer that before the fence was put on top of our brick wall, the pointing should be done first by either removing the bricks and repointing it manually or by using a pointing gun - my husband showed Tom the notes and he chose to ignore them; he put the fencing up first and then slapped mortar across the front of the bricks. The fence is unstable and dangerous due to this and because he didn’t screw it in properly; the tarmac is also coming loose.
