My alarm system
The company was very professional from contacting me to arranging the engineer to sort out the problem with the system. the engineer was on time and very experienced, replaced the back up battery and replaced a door sensor, checked the system and made sure everything was working correctly all done at a very reasonable price. Great service, good company.
We needed CCTV and emergency lights installing on a block of flats. SSY were recommended to us by one of their previous customers. Ash (I think he was called) attended to do the installation and was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained the system after installation and made sure I knew how to use the apps before he left. Very happy with the service and excellent value for money. Who we are
Hawthorne, formerly Security Solutions Yes (SSY), is a commercial security and fire systems installer based in north Norwich.
Same team, same engineers, new name since January 2026.
Our own employed engineers design, install, commission and maintain systems for businesses across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex, and we take on residential work to the same standard.
What we do
CCTV: HD and 4K IP camera systems with remote viewing on your phone, video analytics, and recording retention set in line with ICO guidance. Equipment bought through official UK distribution, never grey imports.
Intruder alarms: EN 50131 Grade 2 and Grade 3 systems, wired or wireless, with dual-path signalling and police URN support where police response is needed.
Access control: card, fob, mobile and biometric systems from a single door to multi-site estates, with full audit trails.
Fire detection: BS 5839-1:2025 design, installation, commissioning and six-monthly servicing, categories L1 to L5 and P1 to P2, with the design, installation and commissioning paperwork your insurer and fire risk assessor expect. Fire extinguishers supplied and serviced to BS 5306.
Nurse call: wired and wireless systems for care homes with audit trails.
Monitoring and maintenance: 24/7 alarm and CCTV monitoring through our partner alarm receiving centre, plus maintenance contracts with scheduled inspections, compliance documentation and a 4-hour emergency response for contract customers.
Gates and barriers: supply, installation and repair of powered gates and barriers, integrated with access control and CCTV.
