At Shepperton Shutters we use a range of materials from our UK and international suppliers to make sure we have the best product for each window. Depending on the size, shape and location of the window or doorway MDF, hardwood, ABS plastic or vinal shutters can be crafted to match the environmental and design needs of each individual room.

Design and Installation process

We use a two-step process to achieve a smooth and convenient shutter installation. Step one is a comprehensive design visit which has two main stages. Firstly, a shutter design is created for each window. There are number of design elements to be decided upon including colour, louvre size and panel configuration to name a few. Once the design and fitting position are decided upon a technical survey is completed. This technical survey allows us to capture all the information our suppliers need to make the shutters to the specific design we require for each window. Step two is installation of the shutters. This is as simple as it sounds and we normally complete this in one day to minimize disruption to our clients. Our shutter installation team have years of experience when it comes to transforming windows. Time and care will be taken to make sure each shutter is fitted to the window opening as designed.

Design and style for any window or doorway

Shutter can be designed to fit any window, in any room, with styles and colours to compliment all the existing features of your home. Styles include but are not limited to the following.

Full Height Shutters - Full height shutters are an obvious choice for most windows. Full height shutters are perfect for controlling light and maximising privacy. Add a mid-rail or split tilt to enhance the style and function of the shutters.

Café Style – café style shutters cover the bottom half of the window leaving the top of the window uncovered to let in the light. A great option if you want to maximise the light and introduce a level of privacy.

Tier on Tier – Tier on tier shutters come with a top tier panel and a bottom tier panel. Both panels can be operated independently of each other. This offers flexibility when it comes to privacy and light control. Tier on tier shutters are best matched to sash windows with a split half way in the opening of the window, often seen in Victorian houses.

Tracked Shutters – Large shutters to cover wide spaces such as bi-fold doors, french doors and windows that go from floor to ceiling. This type of shutter has a discreet track fitted to the top and bottom of the window or door opening allowing the panels to slide into the desired position.

Special Shapes – Bespoke shaped shutters can be designed to fit windows that aren’t rectangular. Circular and arched or triangular windows can all have shutters made to fit the exact shape of the window. Special shaped shutters are often the best solution for a feature window where privacy or light control are needed.

Solid Panel Shutters – Solid panel shutters completely block the window when closed. They allow minimal light through and offer complete privacy. When opened the whole window is exposed. A classic design often seen in old or historic houses.
