    Avoid Company

    Showtek has not paid outstanding invoices despite repeated chases. They currently owe us £14,000 and have ceased all communication. We advise others to ignore this company.

    Corner bench seat with storage

    From the start, communication with Gareth and the team was excellent. They answered all our questions and provided solutions to the bespoke nature of our request. They turned the job around within the time frame and the workmanship is great. When they came to do the fitting, Gareth was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting some bespoke furniture. Thanks guys

    Door fitting including hinges and handles and cupboards under stairs

    Overall we were extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the level of after care and quality of work undertaken my Showtek. Both carpenters who carried out the work were extremely friendly and timely. But the standard of work in our opinion was very poor with poor attention to detail for a professional carpentry business. Door hinge mortises, latch and strike plates were cut too large and shallow and most not straight. And a pre-fab shelving unit was made 15cm short. All this work requires some making good.

    The customer failed to mention that the hinges would be put into existing door frames which had already been morticed. One of which we did for free he failed to mention all the other jobs we did for free as the filling in we were never there to do the decorating as the customer wanted to decorate himself. The shelving unit was made to the measurements we were given by the customer 2 days before the job was due to start. We did a walk around to make sure the customer was happy before the contractors left. Got a message 10pm in the evening to say that customer said that he was not happy. After speaking to the contactors nothing was mentioned abut the hinges. The boxing in the customer was happy. Said that we would go back to the customer but there would be a charge.

    Replacing wooden side gate

    Unfortunately, the organisation was let down by the company who supplied the gate (a normally reputable business) which was not fit for purpose, swelling badly at the first sign of rain. Showtek have agreed to change the gate as soon as possible and have been helpful throughout the process.

    Corner bench and table

    This year I thought i had enough to get them completed. The space is a little tricky and needed to be custom built, plus storage space was a stipulation from my wife. However, this was more expensive than I budgeted. Thankfully, Gareth and Ian bent over backwards to help keep costs down. This was in part due to Ian also having an extra needs child in the family (my daughter has a rare brain condition), and also working with Aldingbourne Trust which we wanted to use to supply our wood. We love our what they came up with, and they even offered to help with the any extras.

    Dressing room design and fit out

    In May we approached Ian and Gareth at Good with Wood / Showtek Group to help us design and fit a dressing room, comprising an approx 3m L-shaped open wardrobe (a combination of hanging rails, shelves and draws) and a 3m dressing table/vanity with wall mounted units above on the opposite wall. The design process flowed smoothly with great advice and assistance along the way. We were able to customise the design and colours to our preference. The build team were friendly, communicative and flexible. I would recommend the company and we will be using their services again.
