Steve fitted laminate flooring and didn’t prep the floor properly. He tried to bodge it and get away with but the flooring split in over half the room after 3 months. He has been ignoring my phone calls, emails and texts for 8 months. My next step is the small claims court. The current floor had been tested by a damp proof specialist and there is no damp in the house. I also paid Steve to fit Lino and this had split and it was fitted very badly. Steve subcontracted this out but he is still liable for the work as I paid him. He owes me £1034.74 refund but he won’t return my calls to discuss

There is an ongoing issue with this that I’m trying to resolve. The floor under the laminate is defective. The are 2 halves in this room, one half of it is a concrete underfloor which is fine. It’s the other half which is defective. The kitchen floor is also lifting, this was subcontracted out and I have been in contact with them to resolve their end of the issue. I am away at the minute in France and won’t be back until next Sunday. I will resolve this when I return
