Damp in the fireplace.
Mark and his son were really helpful in locating the issue and very quick to come around and do the work. They were polite, clean and reasonable priced.
To install a Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) unit in the loft.
Thoroughly reliable and knowledgeable. Install was completed promptly and tidily and we are very happy with the results. Condensation gone from windows and behind furniture and loft is no longer musty.
Investigating water ingress on internal window arches
In order to understand the issue that we were facing, we got in contact with several contractors, including Southern Specialist Treatments. None of the other contractors were able to identify the cause of what we believed was rainwater ingress. On the contrary, Mark was able to immediately recognize the issue as condensation and he suggested installing a Positive Input Ventilation system. From the start he was very professional, patient and available to answer our many questions. Mark and his son carried out the installation very professionally and the issue is now resolved! Totally recommend!
Mark assessed the levels of condensation in the house and fitted a PIV unit in the loft
We have had large amounts of condensation in the house over this winter, leading to patches of black mould, and had spent a large amount on a damp survey which was very unhelpful. When I contacted Mark he was helpful from the start, looked at the survey report for us, came out and carried out his own survey at no additional cost, offered the most cost effective solution we had offered up to this point and well as answering lots of questions and offering advice. The unit was fitted within a very quick time frame and we have been so impressed we have asked Mark to do several other jobs for us!
Installing Positive Input Ventilation
Mark visited my property quickly found the issue and recommended installing a positive input ventilation system to sort a damp and mould issue , installed quickly and has made a huge difference and sorted what was a bad situation , Mark and Colleague were very knowledgeable and helpful throughout and I would highly recommend them
Damp proofing under the stairs where damp was coming from under the floor
Mark and son, Nick, did a first class job from start to finish. Mark used advanced equipment to diagnose the problem and thought carefully about the best solution. He decided that they should strip the area back to the brickwork, apply CDM (cavity drain membrane), install new plaster board and then re-plaster. Mark and Nick worked tidily and kept mess to a minimum. Each stage of the work was carried out to a very high standard. They were courteous, friendly and professional throughout. I'm confident the problem is sorted. I highly recommend their services without reservation.
Installation of a PIV unit
I had a issue with condensation and mould around windows. Mark came and done survey and suggested I have a PIV unit installed in the loft and assured me this would solve the problem. He came back 10 days later and installed unit. Nothing was too much trouble, he even checked out bathroom extractor find to see if it was working.. He was respectful of property and left it clean after work had been done. Would highly recommend this company and would use again. And there has been no condensation since work was done
Vent Axia PIV Loft Unit with heater installed.
The property had a real problem with dampness causing mould to grow despite us ventilating as much as poss. The PIV was installed just over a week ago and the humidity level has dropped significantly which is wonderful. If it continues to improve at this rate it will be the best money I have ever spent on the property! Mark Stoner was easy to communicate with, polite and prompt carrying out the installation. I can thoroughly recommend him.
We had two positive input ventilation fans fitted.
Mark was brilliant. When I first called him he was very knowledgeable. His quote was fair. Always on time, very reliable and trustworthy. Great communication too. The fans have made an immediate difference in our flat. Would highly recommend!
Replacement of rotten joists and flooring, woodworm treatment
Honest, reliable, efficient and quality work, I highly recommend SST. I have had bad experiences with traders in the past and conned along with hundreds of other by a well known Brighton company, I am extremely cautious with who I appoint. From the time of quoting, SST proved to be experts in their field, friendly, honest and reasonable, they also showed a lot of care and attention. They replaced rotten flooring/joists in my living that were in a terrible state. I was so pleased with the work done, and relieved that SST managed to fit me in so quickly. Thank you Mark and Nick!
