    From reviews we chose Sterling Timber & Damp to eliminate dry rot from a small area on the ground floor of our property. The guys were very knowledgeable and experienced. They explained the whole process and in 4 days they had hacked back the wall render, injected the affected walls with dry rot and dpc treatments, replaced the rotten skirting boards and part door frame and re-plastered. We chose to clear the affected rooms and moved furniture to allow ease of access. All rubbish was taken away. A thorough, very professional, reasonably priced, fully guaranteed job from Sterling Timber & Damp.

    Was a pleasure to have Jim do this work. He was extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy and professional. We have just purchased an old cottage that had extensive rising damp across the whole ground floor. Jim explained everything to us from start to finish and we felt very assured. Sterling Timber and Damp has been established since the 1970’s and in that time has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in the remedial and restoration processes meaning we provide high quality service that is tailored to your needs

  • Rising Damp - Rising damp (or Salt Damp) is something that affects most older buildings to some degree or another, potentially leading to major structural problems
  • Condensation - We provide positive ventilation solutions to condensation and damp problems. We only supply and fit the best systems on the market
  • Woodworm Treatment - Woodworm is more than just one problem; the term referring to the larvae of any wood-boring beetle. They invade and consume wood
  • Dry Rot - Particularly in older buildings, fungal rotting can be a huge problem. There are many variations, but all stem from the same source
  • Rendering - We provide both exterior and interior rendering services. Exterior rendering is used to reduce the amount of moisture that gets through to the masonry
  • Listed Buildings - We provide services relating to Listed Buildings including maintenance and preservation. Each building requires individual assessing and we can offer assistance and advice.
