Outside work on fascia boards, chimney, rendering, window frames
There were a few unavoidable interruptions to the work, but Rob and his team are extremely professional and pleasant to have on site, and I have no hesitation in recommending this company.Verified reviewerJob location: GU214.75 Posted 17 June 2020
Extension
All building work has issues and challenges. It is how it is managed that counts. Because of issues around the wrong kitchen being ordered the company “made a loss” and their aftercare has been non existent. My main issue is the roof leaks. Despite numerous phone calls, emails and promises I have had to get a roofer in to resolve. I now have a cost of £600 I would like a refund on and also internal decoration is needed to repair the leak which will be a further cost. I picked this builder mainly due to check a trade and wish an urgent resolutionVerified reviewerJob location: GU99 Posted 11 October 2019
Painting and decorating
Refitting our kitchen involved knocking down an inner wall and as part of the job, The Only Handyman re-painted all of the downstairs lounge, dining area and snug. They did a great job from giving advice on colours when I asked, to suggesting the best ways to invest the budget I had. The rooms now look lovely and the job has been finished to a very high standardVerified reviewerJob location: KT119.25 Posted 11 October 2019
Design of ‘snug’ area
Rob came to refit my kitchen which involved knocking through our lounge/diner into the kitchen. The lounge was long and thin with a lot of wasted space at one end. Rob suggested that he could turn this into a separate room by putting up walls, rounding them off at the corner to give us better access into the hallway and adding a separate door. This is now a much used 'snug' with TV and sofa which has made a big difference to our family life. I am delighted with this extra room and it fits so well into the house I can't imagine how the area was beforeVerified reviewerJob location: KT119.25 Posted 11 October 2019
Downstairs wet room / WC design and installation
I had a very small downstairs toilet plus a small coat rail in space underneath our stairs and asked Rob for advice on how we could best utilise this area. There was no room for a shower cubicle, but he suggested turning the space into a wet room which gave me an extra shower room. This has been a much needed addition to our family in a houseful of three teenagers.Verified reviewerJob location: KT119.5 Posted 11 October 2019
Garden Landscaping and design
I was unsure what to do with my garden and when Rob came to quote for refurbishing our kitchen, he made some great suggestions about my options, some of which I hadn't considered before. He took up all the old lawn which was full of weeds, took up the patio and removed all the old tree roots underneath which were pushing up the stones, laid a lovely new patio, new lawn and put in raised beds. I feel like I have an extra outdoor room nowVerified reviewerJob location: KT11
