Response from Union Drains
Following on from our engineer attending and spending 90mins attempting to clear a substantial blockage on your property a decision was made after discussion with our staff and yourself to call a halt to works as we charge (as very clearly stated in audited e-mail trail for transparency) in timed increments and as a company we have a policy of keeping clients informed of costs at every juncture. Due to partial blockage still in evidence we voluntarily reduced the invoice prepared by a significant amount of £60.00 plus vat leaving a balance of £176.00 including VAT which you very happily paid without query nor complaint. It was a week later that you contacted us and spoke to our staff in a very threatening manner informing her that you had called a second company to complete the unblock as you felt they offered a better rate. Our customer services advisor made every attempt to rectify your unjust complaint and escalated to senior management in order to offer you a full descale and clean free of charge or a partial refund. Both of these offers were declined by yourself in what can only be perceived as a calculated attempt to extort services rendered for free with harassment and bully tactics which we find wholly unacceptable & unethical.
