Originally booked in months in advance, however this was not booked in and we had to figure out an alternative date. When the job was completed I mentioned about the fireback being soundproofed but as this was a gas fire he was unable to do this which made sense.
After paying Gareth £3k to complete the soundproofing I made him aware that after close inspection there were gaps which he said there was no gaps when he left which I thought might be the reason why the soundproofing was failing.
Gareth explained that we would need to treat the chimney void and spend more money on the soundproofing
Response from The Soundproofing Specialists
Richard did not want to get the full wall soundproofed I did not want to lose some of the brick arch features
I had advised as always that it’s best to wrap around the chimney breast and cover all of the wall
On the morning of the installation, I spoke with Richard for about 20 minutes about the complexities of the void inside the masonry buildup of the chimney breasts
I had my concerns on the morning and said that I had doubts of how successful this particular installation would be because of how unusual it was
Richard allowed me to continue even despite of the warning
