9.33 Installation of a mixer tap and leak repair
Posted 30 January
There was an issue with the taps in the bathroom where it was only giving out hot water. This was changed with the installation of new pipes for the leak repair and mixer tap. Pictures were sent, no issues as far as I can tell and tenant is happy with the outcome.Verified reviewerJob location: KT1710 Changing dreadful old bath taps and bathroom sink taps for new.

Sajjad did a great job! It turned out to be major in the end as the previous job (from well over 20 years ago) was pretty ropey and getting the taps off and the new ones on and checking them, etc. took a long time; 8 hours in all! He was always cheerful and considerate and came back the next day to organise the silicon round the bath. The job quote was £180, but I gave him £20 extra for his time and for extra equipment required.Verified reviewerJob location: SW128.25 Immersion heater element replacement

Although the contractor said that a full replacement of the floor would be easier, he confirmed that he would be able patch repair the floor (even though it would be more difficult). Following completion, we found a number of issues: 1. Expanding foam and glue were used, which are clearly visible and unsightly. 2. Floorboards unevenly cut and were not properly joined to the existing flooring. 3. Newly laid flooring was covered in glue, scratched and chipped (where the contractor had tried to remove the glue with a chisel). 4. Work was not completed with a reasonable standard of care and skill.Verified reviewerJob location: SW16Response from Vital Plumbing & Heating LTD
