Very disappointed. I was initially told the call out and first hour would be £145. After I gave my card details I got an invoice for £145 PLUS VAT :-(
The visit wasn't by 7pm as promised but ended up being 24 hours later.
They do know what they are doing and did a good job of assessing the fault and fixing the immersion heater in the boiler. The real fault was a non functioning motorised head. I hoped the quote would be reduced because of the delay. Only one head needed replacing but I was ok with the others being done at the same time as I imagined the worst case billing would be another £1

We’d like to clarify. The £145 call-out/first hour rate was quoted plus VAT, confirmed by phone (recorded) and in writing before attendance. On the day the engineer’s van broke down; we offered same-day attendance, but you chose to reschedule. Within the paid hour we diagnosed the heating fault and repaired an immersion issue, restoring hot water. Comparing to Screwfix is not comparable; pricing includes labour, sourcing, travel, insurance, testing, warranty. Budget discussion was to explore options.
