My name is Jeff Young. I have been working in the building trade for 35 years. I am carpenter by background but have spent the last 30 years focussed on loft conversions. This work has enabled me to cover all of the major aspects of building including
Roofing inc fascia’s , soffits , gable ends , lead work. Staircases / Stud Partitions / Plaster boarding Windows (including Velux) Flooring / Second Fix ( skirting and architrave , and doors.) Also Gutter Cleaning
My years of experience have meant I am used to dealing with customers who have little experience of building, and I am able to build great relationships. Repair and replace damaged flashing on two flat roofs.
Very prompt and efficient service at a competitive price. All work carried to my satisfaction and the site left clean and tidy. I’ve used Youngs before and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.
I have water ingress on my London roof
I previously initially gave an excellent review only to find the works completed actually didn’t work and my roof leaks are worse and my ceiling and wall inside are showing sign of further damage, staining, bowing and are much wetter, I’ve contact Youngs many times and they still haven’t returned to look at and fix my leaks. They’ve previously made a time to return and just haven’t showed up or had the courtesy to cancel. I’ve had to chase to be told they’ve very busy. I think this is totally unsatisfactory and unprofessional and they’re not honouring the guarantee they’ve given me.
Realligning guttering
Jeff and Jim attended our home to take down, clean and realign a section of guttering on a rear extension. They were polite, tidy and unobtrusive, taking time to explain their work. It isn't raining at the moment to check whether the realignment has been a success, but fingers crossed the problem is solved!
Dry Verge replacement and 20 m2 brickwork Repointing
The job was in 2 parts. They replaced the verges on a gable end roof with a continuous dry edging and made good defective verge brickwork left by another roofing company. They also repointed 20 square meters of brickwork on the gable end wall to a high standard and tidied up after themselves. Youngs did a very good job. Poor weather hampered progress but they maintained excellent communications when the weather prevented them attending and even worked on a Saturday to make up time. A key quality was that they paid attention to detail and the end result was what I was hoping for.
