TradeSites Terms and Conditions

INTRODUCTION

  1. These Product Terms apply in addition to the Master Service Terms to the provision by Us of the TradeSite Service on or after 29th October 2025.

  2. The TradeSite Service is only available to trades with a Fixed Plan or PAYG Campaign. If You cancel Your Fixed Plan or PAYG Campaign, You will be moved to Our Free Profile Service in order to continue using the TradeSite Service, subject to the limitations set out in these Product Terms.

  3. Words and phrases used in these Product Terms shall have the same meaning as set out in the Master Service Terms and applicable Product Terms, unless otherwise defined below.

DEFINITIONS

  • “TradeSite” means the co-branded website made available to You through the TradeSite Service.

  • “TradeSite Service” means the service where We design, host, maintain, and license to You a co-branded TradeSite.

  • “Your Content” means all content, logos, images, data, and other materials provided by You for use in connection with the TradeSite Service.

TERM 3. The TradeSite Service will commence on the date You sign up and click to accept these Product Terms and will continue until terminated in accordance with clause 23 and 24.

4. The TradeSite Service is provided as part of a Beta programme and is made available free of charge on a discretionary basis. Any introduction of Fees will be governed by clause 13.

OUR OBLIGATIONS

5. We shall provide You with the TradeSite Service.

6. The TradeSite Service is provided as part of a BETA program and you acknowledge that it may occasionally contain errors, inaccuracies, or interruptions. We may update, modify, suspend, or withdraw the TradeSite Service at any time at Our discretion.

7. We shall review and approve all Your Content both at the time of creation and on an ongoing basis. 

8. You may request reasonable amendments to TradeSite, We may, at our sole discretion, accept, modify, or decline such requests.

YOUR OBLIGATIONS

9. You are solely responsible for all of Your Content You provide for use in the TradeSite. You must ensure that Your Content:

a) is accurate, not misleading, and kept up to date;

b) does not infringe the rights of any third party (including intellectual property, privacy, or data protection rights); and

c) complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and advertising standards.

10. You must not:

a) provide, request, or publish any content that is offensive, defamatory, inappropriate, or which could damage or disparage Checkatrade’s reputation; or 

b) alter or interfere with the way your TradeSite is set up, including any built-in features, codes or tools.

FREE PROFILE

11. If you cancel Your Fixed Plan or PAYG Campaign you will be moved on to Our Free Profile Service.

12. Once moved to Our Free Profile Service we reserve the right to remove all Checkatrade branding, Secure Contacts, widgets, and technology from the TradeSite.

FEES

13. We will provide reasonable advance Written notice before introducing any fees. You may terminate the TradeSite Service at any time before such fees take effect. If You do not terminate before that date, You will be deemed to have accepted the fees.

LEADS

14. Any Leads generated through the TradeSite via a Secure Contract or the request a quote function, will be allocated against Your existing Fixed Plan or PAYG Campaign (as applicable).

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

15. You retain ownership of Your  Content. You grant Us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, licence to use, copy, modify, and display Your Content for the purposes of providing, co-branding, and maintaining the TradeSite Service.

16. We (or Our licensors) retain ownership of all intellectual property in the TradeSite Service, including the TradeSite, design, software, tools, and any AI-generated content.

17. Any domain name registered, created, or otherwise provided by Us for use in connection with the TradeSite shall remain under Our control and ownership. For the duration of the TradeSite Service, We grant You a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use such domain solely for the purposes of accessing and promoting Your TradeSite.

18. You grant Us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable licence during the Term to use Your business name, trading name, brand, and any associated marks or identifiers as necessary for the creation and operation of the TradeSite, including incorporation into the domain name.

WARRANTIES AND INDEMNITIES

19. You warrant that You have all necessary rights, licences, and permissions to provide Your Content and grant Us the licences set out in these Product Terms.

20. You shall indemnify Us against any claims, losses, or damages arising from Our use of the Your Content in accordance with these Product Terms, or from Your breach of these warranties.

NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS AND THIRD-PARTY TECHNOLOGIES

21. The TradeSite Service may use AI tools and third-party widgets. While We strive to ensure reliability, We do not guarantee:

a) that the TradeSite Service will be free of errors, defects, or interruptions;

b) the accuracy, completeness, or performance of any AI-generated or third-party content;

c) that Leads generated by the TradeSite will result in enquiries, sales, or business outcomes; or

d) that search engine rankings or visibility will improve as a result of the TradeSite Service.

TERMINATION AND SUSPENSION

22. Without prejudice to any other rights or remedies We may have, We may temporarily suspend Your TradeSite Service immediately on Written notice to You if any Fees (whether under these Product Terms or any other of Our Products and/or Services) are overdue or if You fail to comply with Your obligations in these Product Terms.

23. Without prejudice to any other rights or remedies We may have, We may suspend or terminate the TradeSite Service for any reason at any time by giving You no less than thirty (30) days’ Written notice.

24. You may terminate the TradeSite Service by calling 0333 014 6190. Such notice of termination shall take effect ten (10) Business Days after You provide notice.

25. At the time You give notice to terminate the TradeSite Service, You may request to acquire the domain used for the TradeSite. 

26. Upon termination or expiry of the TradeSite Service for any reason, the TradeSite will be permanently de-commissioned and will no longer be available to You or the public, and all rights of access to the TradeSite Service shall immediately cease.
