I have over 25 years experience as a carpenter working on new builds, period houses, maintenance and several years joiners shop experience. I have recently gone self-employed and just joined Checkatrade to hopefully improve my client base. I have a small number of repeat clients at the moment. The type of work I undertake is as follows:
1.Hanging new doors and fitting door furniture and locks, plus repairs of damaged woodwork.
2.Fixing of skirting and architraves, boxing in of pipework, and sash cord renewal.
3.Constructing small cabinets, cupboards and bookcases out of sheet materials (i.e. MDF, melamine, plywood etc.).
4. Fitted kitchens.

Kitchen carcasses fitted, boxing in and skirting board fitment.
Kevin has done a fair amount of work for us and agreed to fit our kitchen cupboards as we have always been happy with his work so wanted someone we could trust. Our kitchen is not particularly square and Kevin did a great job of squaring all of the cupboards up and was a perfectionist about levelling not only top to bottom but front and back. A few of the carcasses needed some amendments to fit around the boiler and pipes and this was done very well with no fuss. The boxing was a straight forward job but done to a high standard. Our skirting is smooth and level and Kevin went away and ordered an taller piece of skirting to ensure the finish was perfect on a sloping floor. Kevin insists on using only a top quality supplier for timber and top quality fitments so that the job is done well; this is something I appreciate and admire.
