Bricking up of doorway and window, rendering over brickwork, adding internal skin walls in blockwork, digging up floor and replacing with concrete and screed.
Courteous. Work of a high standard. Cleaning of dust/mopping floor in adjoining room when he left was an unexpected bonus. Sourced skip and electrician at short notice. Provided me with welcome advice on other aspects of work which I was having done. A good find and will seek to use again when we have the need. Thanks John!

Strip old leaking and roof off and retile.
I am a landlord with several properties, to keep the rent coming in from my tenants its imperative to have a good builder. So I cant praise this guy enough! Who even worked in the rain to solve an emergency problem I had on a leaking roof before work started, he gave me a quote in writing and kept the final bill to the original quote, (even though we had many problems!) he came up with good solutions to over come these problems. I just felt he was on my side working with me, (who is also a perfectionist!) I have used his services on about seven of my properties now, every time he has come up trumps for me. If your looking for a good honest hard working builder, at a fair competitive price, then you have found him, because I know I have!

Telecommunications ducting to five properties.
Great work from John and Roy. The work involved installing both BT and virgin underground ducting to five properties including instillation of a man hole and installing draw cables. We also added some further driveway works to the schedule. John is our builder of choice for small works and this was the fifth time we have used LA Construction and would recommend John and the team without hesitation. Prompt and courteous he kept us fully informed throughout the duration of the works as to progress and cost.

Ground clearance, root removal and levelling on a large plot.
John and Roy did an excellent job on our newly acquired garden plot which was infested with ivy, bramble and fern roots and suffered from very uneven levels. They worked sensitively with the 3 trees with TPO's which they had to manoeuvre around and which made the job of both levelling and weed root removal that bit more difficult. They also took in their stride the discovery of a massive tree stump, hidden beneath the topsoil which was a challenge to remove. When no waste removal company would agree to take the huge stump away, rather than leaving us with this monster, John offered to go home, get his trailer and remove it to a personal contact who could burn it for a nominal sum. They offer a very professional approach and readiness to offer excellent customer service as standard.

Removal of door frame and re-plastering.
We used John to remove an old door frame and plaster board and re-plaster to create a smooth wall. Johns quote was very reasonable and the quality of his work was extremely high. He was friendly and courteous throughout. We will be using John again.

Cutting worktop in situ and moving units after a wider cooker installation
John was willing to fit us in at short notice on his day off in order to allow me to get my kitchen back in order after a new wider cooker had been installed. I can honestly say I have not met a more professional and meticulous carpenter.The job of cutting a worktop in situ had been turned down by another workman as being too tricky, but John was able to complete the job without any difficulty. He took the greatest care with every aspect of the project. I have no hesitation recommending him to family and friends and more importantly, I am very relieved to have found a tradesman with a wide portfolio of skills on whom I can confidently call for future projects.
