I am in my 8th year as a sole trader having started in January 2005. I prefer to work alone as I would not wish anyone else to ruin my reputation! Most of my work is domestic although I occasionally decorate commercial premises and rarely for builders on 'new builds' but would be quite happy to do so. I'm not VAT registered so there is no additional 20% charge to labour costs.
Interior decorating. Thorough preparation of woodwork prior to painting or staining. I can skim walls for a flat finish. I can also fit coving, picture rails, dado rails, and skirting boards. I do not hang wallpaper as I barely get the demand for it.
Exterior decorating. Again, proper preparation of all external woodwork including windows, soffit and fascia boards. Painting of masonry including repair of blown, bubbling and flaking masonry paint. I can work to a height of 8 metres up a ladder if safe to do so to keep costs down, otherwise scaffolding may be required.
Fully Insured to £2 million in Public Liability, this can be increased in necessary.
