Re-design and install large kitchen.
The score given speaks for itself.  Excellent quality of work. The initial specification and cost estimates strictly adhered to.  I have no hesitation at all in recommending Michael Hall. He had many obstructions caused by the dilatory performance of the kitchen furniture supplier but overcame them all with a pleasant and helpful demeanor.  As I said before - no hesitation at all.

Repair water damaged flooring
As always work was completed on time, and the area was left clean and tidy. It is good to know that someone like Mike will do smaller pieces of work as well, very often you cannot get someone to do the smaller jobs. This is the second time I have used Mike and both times I have been very happy with the work he has done.

Renewing timber door to garage
The "verbal contract" was not fulfilled - the agreed scope of work was to fit new and remove old door. After numerous phone calls and emails the old door is still left on site despite my having placed it out of the garage in an accessable position.

Response from Michael Hall Carpentry Services Ltd:
"I went and fitted the new door expecting to have plenty of time to get rid of the old one. The customer said that she would give the door a coat of stain before I hung it, this was not done. They also got the wrong size lock whcih I personally took back to the shop and changed for the right one. Therefore by the time I hung the door, stained the door and changed and fitted the lock I didn't have time to take the old door to the skip and said I would pick it up on another day which her daughter said would be alright. I advised them to give the new door another coat of stain ASAP as the first coat had soaked straight in. Not only did I do this extra work at no cost but then had to go back the following two evenings before I got paid. At this time I only had the customers daughters mobile number and could not contact her to collect the door when I was free. Then the door swelled up in the wet weather and they wanted me to go round and ease it, which I did late at night on my way home at no extra cost, only to find that they hadn't taken my advice and hadn't given it another coat of stain. I then told the customer that I would be around in the area the week commencing 19 March and would pick up the old door. I went round 3 times to pick it up, noone was in and I couln't see the door, I presume still in the garage. Anyway the door has now been removed. With regard to the scores given, I cleared away all the rubbish except the door, I was there when I said I would be, I was always polite, never rude ( a score of 5 for courtesy is a joke), the quality of the work was perfect when I left, it is not my fault they did not listen to advise to do another coat of stain. Overall the customer got more than she asked for."
