Took out 2 chimneys through whole house.

Ray put in 2 sets of gallows brackets in loft. Took out chimney stacks through bedrooms and downstairs, and plastered wall. Lot of structural work made rooms bigger, great hard working team, over the moon with the work.

Loft conversion sheet work and timber structure.

Ray stripped off roof and built loft conversion and putting in all steel beams great tradesman. Excellent work would highly recommend RB Builders, will be using them on 2nd phase of job. I would recommend this company.

Painting and re-tiling front of house.

Excellent workmanship with initiative. When there was a glitch in re-tiling due to original build, the lip above bay window was reduced to eliminate gaps in tiling. Professional job.

New porch, banisters, study entrance, painting/decorating multiple rooms

2nd time this year we've hired Ray, and certainly not the last. Earlier this year Ray undertook major work on our kitchen/garage etc. This time Ray completed the porch he had prepared (we were waiting on glasswork), redesigned our staircase (new oak banisters/spindles etc) and painted / decorated / made-good 4 bedrooms, 2 reception rooms and the entire hall/stairs. We left Ray to complete the work while we went on holiday, knowing from experience that we would return to the completed work with any needed finishing touches completed quickly. Our house is fast becoming the "house that Ray built!". I would happily recommend Ray for a broad range of building/decorating work.

Detail of works: Rip out bathroom/utility room to make dining room area larger. Widen existing kitchen/diner supporting wall opening (+steels/brickwork). Open up kitchen/garage supporting wall (+steels/brickwork). Extend garage. Design/Create new utility room. Internal/External brickwork and stud walls. Remodel/reposition window/door openings, source and fit new windows + lintel. Rip out kitchen. Source/Build new kitchen/diner area. New plumbing/electrics throughout. Plaster/decorate throughout. New ceilings + lights throughout. New / repaired floors/walls. Tile kitchen/utility floors. Repair kitchen roof. Prepare new porch area, source and fit porch + tile floor. The Builders: Working for 7 weeks, starting 3 days after we moved into a new house with our 2 young children, Ray and Steve (+ associates) have completed an A-Z management of a large remodelling of our kitchen/dining/utility/garage areas. Wherever we had any concerns/queries/changes etc, these were resolved immediately through constructive conversations and idea generation. Their ability to be flexible and professionally tackle a wide range of work enabled us to extend the work scope time-and-again as our confidence grew that we could have an idea, and they could successfully implement it. Importantly, at all stages, a costing was agreed up front and at no stage were these deviated from. In addition, they demonstrated a work ethic I had no idea you'd find with a builder - e.G. Being at the site at 7:30 every day and working solidly throughout the day, being ready and willing to go the extra mile, and put extra hours in if required - e.G. We twice had to call Ray back in the evening, and both times he arrived within 20 minutes and the problem was resolved and/or controlled ready to be fixed the next day. They were a pleasure to employ, and we have a series of further jobs lined up for which we will no-doubt be using their services again.

RB Builders – Ray; efficient, punctual, professional, courteous, conscientious, reliable and a very capable builder, who takes total pride in his work. Fully typed out quote, no pressure or chasing, took time to explain the work to be carried out, payment was only asked for after portions of work had been done (this was pre-agreed) and he was adamant that the work was finished before the final payment was paid. He made a couple of good suggestions for alternative ideas during the work which saved some blushes I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him – he done a first class job for a good price and was extremely pleasant to deal with, his quality of work is fantastic. Excellent workmanship and service, I was very impressed

Ray built platform and ramp from front door to gate, approx 30ft for my wife's wheelchair. Also felted timber. Fantastic job from start to finish. What a godsend he has been, could not of asked for a better 1st class builder. Can't go wrong with using Ray. Been great from start to finish. We're telling all our friends about his quality.
