I was in the motor trade myself as a mechanic in the 1960s.  Simon Rigden has done repairs and inspections to my satisfaction. I would use him again any time one of the best workers.

Car was misfiring caused by water plugs changed etc.

Very friendly and courteous service. I was kept informed throughout the process. I didn't expect to get my car back on the road so quickly.

Oil leak.

We phoned Simon in the morning and he was here at about lunchtime to carry out the work and charged a very reasonable price. Since then we have decided that he will look after our cars on a regular basis.

Serviced car, supplied and fitted new part, took car for MOT.

Very pleased with excellent service at very reasonable price. Really appreciate Simon getting my MOT arranged at short notice. All done with very pleasant manner and I would gladly recommend.

Changed the battery.

At first I thought it was my starting motor had gone, so he came out to see what the problem was and it turned out that the battery was dead. He explained everything throughout and it was sorted out very quickly. Will definitely be using him again and recommending him to friends.

Replaced a broken coil spring on Ford Ka.

I phoned Mr Rigden at 8am to describe the problem. He offered to come and have a look, arrived by about 9.10. Ordered the part which was delivered promptly, fitted it and also pumped up my tyres which were a bit flat. Was all done by 10.30 and the price was extremely reasonable. Mr Rigden was polite and friendly and I thought the service was excellent and good value. Would score higher than 10 if I could and would definitely recommend him.

Fan belt change.

Simple job for a man of his experience I guess. Nevertheless, turned up nice and early at short notice and had virtually finished before the kettle boiled. Price good too.
