    Kitchen floor, levelled and porcelain tiles laid.

    Steve is very experienced and it showed in his work. Everything completed to a very high standard. It was also very comfortable having Steve work in kitchen.

    Perfect tiling!

    Steve did an absolutely fantastic job tiling our hallway. He turned it from drab to fab and it now looks so much bigger thanks to the clever way he laid the tiles. He’s a real perfectionist and clearly takes pride in delivering a perfect finish, we are so pleased with the result. We wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again. Thank you Steve!

    Excellent tiling job

    Job was tiling downstairs loo, plus small area between loo and utility - total c5sqm. Steve was great - talked us through a couple of options, provided quotes in good time, finished work looks great and he was very clean and tidy. Would definitely recommend.

    Brick slips tiling - highly recommend

    Steve did an amazing job laying brick slips in our kitchen extension to create a feature wall. This is quite a niche type of work, and Steve did it perfectly. He has a very high attention to detail and did the work with such diligence, I'm very pleased with the result! Steve was also very nice and polite and easy to communicate to. Highly recommend!

My name is Steve, I’m a sole trader with over 20 years experience in all aspects of wall and floor tiling. I began my tiling career in Australia in 2000. After backpacking the previous year I was offered a job and apprenticeship at Randwick college, Sydney. After returning to England in 2005 I set up Steve Johnsen Tiling. We are a small, friendly, family run business, who pride ourselves in attention to detail and producing a precise finish. I take enormous pride in my work and im continually striving to leave customers with a finished product they can be proud of.


I joined Checkatade in 2007 and have been consistently working in Walton on Thames, (where I live with my wife and two teenage girls ) Weybridge, Hersham, Molsey, Esher, and all other local areas within a 5 miles radius or so.


I have a full range of the tiling skill sets , that enable me to complete all aspects of wall and floor tiling. I undertake complete house remodelling projects to simple tile replacements. No project is to big or small. I am a one trade, professional tiler that has been working on his craft for over 20 years , improving year on year, and always striving for perfection.


I will always endeavour to arrive in a timely manner, clean, fresh and ready to work. At the start of the job, I always like to consult with my customers to discuss the job and listen to any potential ideas they might have regarding the project. I will sheet up around the house and try to keep noise and dust to a minimum and most importantly leave your house in the same condition as I found it.
