Removal of old fire surround where we had previously had a gas fire, installation of a new surround, back, and grate to enable us to have an open fire.
Adam was a delight, not pushy, not condescending and happy to listen to me in my state of uncertainty about what I replaced a very outdated gas fire and surround with. I had the gas fire removed at a moment’s thought, it had to go, but did I know what I was going to replace it with or what options I had? No! I went to a few of the stove / burner/ fire installation specialists, a woman in a quandary about what to do next. Adam was the only one who took the time to understand me and what I wanted to achieve, the other consultants I met with had nothing to offer in terms of help or a solution they just wanted to make a sale, or not as was the case in some instances where the consultant appeared to view me as an inconvenience. Adam and has team have fitted and advised on my new beautiful open fire without a second thought. They have been polite, helpful, tidy, trustworthy and a pleasure to work with. I would have no hesitation in recommending Adam and his colleagues to anyone.

Remove Victorian style fireplace and fit stove and chimney liner and new hearth.
Excellent and courteous engineer called Mark. Quick, efficient and helpful. Really tidy as well and all done in the time span quoted. Adam in the shop really helped with choosing the right stove for the job with his knowledge of fires and the fitting process. Highly recommend.

Old open fire, fireplace, mantelpiece and chimney breast removed. Wood burner installed.
Mark, latterly assisted by Alex, turned up on time and worked hard and well leaving very little mess which he cleared up after the first day and left everything in perfect condition when the work was completed. Adam, in the office, helped enormously while we tried to decide on which fireplace to have. The decision on the wood burner was fairly easy.

Adam's colleagues were polite and friendly. We had some issues (some builder years before we moved in appeared to have made the chimney smaller upstairs) which meant the lining they wanted to fit was too big. The guys were really helpful, they worked out a way to fit a smaller liner and they came back a second day to sort these issues out without charging any extra. Really great, would definitely recommend. And I apologise to Wakeford Fireplaces for such a late review!
