Wakeford Fireplaces was established in November 1984 by Robert Wakeford to meet the growing demand for a specialist fireplace and fire centre where the wishes of customers were met. Since its inception, Wakeford Fireplaces has become your local display centre. 


The fireplaces displayed are under constant review to ensure the latest styles and products, together with well-loved favourites. 
The showroom shows examples of what can be done, a fireplace is a very personal choice so we offer a very bespoke service.

Fireplace knocked out, new log burner fitted.
Absolutely delighted with the work. Fantastic service from Mike at Wakeford when picking the fireplace, very knowledgeable and advised a two staged approach of 1) knocking out the fireplace and then 2) reviewing what size log burner will fit into the space. Mark, who knocked out the fireplace and fitted the burner was very good and cleaned up after him. Overall a brilliant service and the log burner looks great. I could have saved money by doing this myself but would not have got the professional finish, knowledge and service that I got from Mike and Mark. Highly recommend using Wakeford.

Fitting fireplace.
We really weren't sure how it would all work - having already bought the fire insert and electric fire, and then buying the fireback separately and then trying to bring it together with a surround. Wakeford happily took on the project to put it all together. Very helpful, useful suggestions/advice, friendly, great fitters and fireplace looks really fabulous.

Installation of wood burning stove and blocking up of another fireplace
All that had been discussed on the site visit by Mike was completed as agreed by Mark and Ron with whose standard of work and approach was highly professional - even down to vacuuming the carpet afterwards. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Traditional open fire pit removed and new gas fire installed.

We had a new fire installed.
Fantastic job done, very professional and friendly service I even felt safe leaving them in our home whilst I collected my children, the cleaning up job after installment was amazing, certainty wouldn't hesitate to contact Wakeford Fireplaces again. Highly recommend.

Replacing a gas fire with woodburning stove (including removing the existing stone hearth/surround and refitting it once the opening had been made wide enough for the woodburner, as well as lining the chimney).
The service we received was excellent from start to finish. Friendly, honest and reliable. This is the second time we have used Wakeford Fireplaces (the first time was fit a flame effect gas fire with limestone surround) and we wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Installation of wood burner.
Initial enquiry handled via e-mail with Adam who was very informative. Visited the showroom to learn more and to choose a suitable model. This was then followed up with a site visit with a detailed cost of what was required including necessary scaffolding. Fitting was done on the scheduled day and all work completed to an excellent standard. Highly recommended.

Excellent work carried out in stages as the installation was in an extension. All the issues encountered were fixed and the stove performs better than expected. Overall delighted with the product and service.
