    I wanted to extend into the garden, fix a flat roof & add skylights, move several supporting walls, remove a fireplace, replace plumbing & electrics, fix a collapsing garage, and add a covered & decked back porch. Sandstone Engineering performed the structural designs and building works. As they were in charge for both, I am massively satisfied with the structural integrity of the outcome. I even recall that the building inspector was impressed by the foundations, and the architects were very complimentary about the quality of the structural engineering plans. Highly recommend

    I had a mortgage survey done on the property and it came back that we needed an additional structural survey done on some further potential works before the mortgage could be completed. Safi at sandstone was amazing and understood that timing was an issue. After an initial phone consultation the team were with us the next day and they were very thorough, very professional and had the report back with me in 3 days which had led me to complete on my mortgage. Highly recommended and would definitely use again.

Sandstone is a structural engineering consultancy which provides technical input for residential developments. We have a keen eye on economic design without compromising on quality.

We pride ourselves on working together with Architect’s, Developers, and Contractors to extract the most out of every project with importance given to the details that arise from the initial concept, though to the design and construction, keeping our clients informed along the way.

Naseem Hafesji – MEng (hons), IStructE Member

With 5 years of experience in residential and commercial development across London, I have built up a wealth of knowledge regarding existing structures constructed across a span of different eras, be it Georgian, Victorian, or Edwardian.

Every building has a different story to tell, with unique characteristics which must be tailored to when looking to renovate and redevelop in-line with modern design standards. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all solution and ensure to consider the needs of the historic structure along with the new design.

 

Safi Al-Koud – MEng (hons), GMICE

I’m a fully qualified civil/structural engineer that have been working in the residential market for +4 years. I have gained most of my experience from working with an international multi-disciplinary consultancy firm on projects for the likes of Network Rail, TfL and different London Councils.

I have successfully led multiple projects from RIBA stage 1 (feasibility) to stage 5 (construction) using industry cutting-edge design techniques and software, utilising different construction materials such as timber, steel and reinforced concrete.
