  Incomplete job, inaccurate quote

  The job was clearance of a house following the death of its owner. Initial quote was £550 - 'no hidden charges, price includes disposal, payment on completion'. After taking one van load, the boss advised that his disposal people have changed the way they charge and the price is now £800. Half of it had to be paid that day. They came back and picked up a second van load then came back the next day for a third. I advised that there was still another van's worth of stuff left behind, they said they'd be back at the weekend but never returned. A wall was damaged in the process of removing items.

  Fitting of shelving for cats

  I'd bought some shelves and wall-mounted hammocks for the cats, but I didn't feel confident about the drilling required, so I got in touch with John. His van broke down on the day, but he got some alternate transport arranged and made it on the same day (kept me updated throughout the day). As for the job, he got the various pieces fitted quickly and easily, and filled in a couple of holes that I'd made when I tried to do it myself. He's a friendly guy and made sure everything was tidy before leaving. Would definitely recommend.

  Replacement plug socket / light switch

  Had a couple of small jobs that needed taking care of. E-Plug phoned me shortly after posting my request and said they'd send someone that day for a quote. Khan showed up that afternoon, right on time. The quote was cheaper than I'd been offered elsewhere and he offered to get the jobs done straight away, so I accepted. Work was done quickly and professionally, and Khan was friendly and courteous throughout. Would definitely use E-Plug again.
