  The carpenter arrived promptly at 8.00 a.m. and worked conscientiously for several hours. He rebuilt the lower part of the door, rehung it so that it opened properly and primed the area of new wood. Everything was done carefully and professionally.

  The proposed plan of the work was discussed fully with us before it started and at regular intervals as the job progressed. The team of workers turned up on time and were always polite. Certain unexpected problems cropped up during the work (a hidden foul-water drain trap and inadequate drainage of rainwater from down pipes); these were fully discussed with us and a plan of action put in place. The finished driveway looks very good, with impressive attention to detail.

  The heating engineer came to check for a suspected problem with our boiler and heating system which the company had installed five months ago. He was polite and helpful and made a sensible assessment of the situation. The issue was with the settings on the controller, together with the fact that we have an unusually small hot-water tank. He reset the controller and we agreed on what to do if there are problems in future.
