New kitchen fitted
Mark was friendly and professional and was able to deliver a complicated project including moving radiators, power sockets, light switches, additional centrally heated plinth heaters and new Amtico flooring after levelling over existing tiles to an exceptional standard. We would (and will) use him again! Very satisfied customers!

Cold water feed installed for dishwasher
Mark quoted for a new cold feed. He said he charged £40 ph. I asked how long the job would take he said no more than 2 hrs. When he came to do the job he was here no more than 25 mins including time going in and out of the van and chatting. I was then shocked when asked for £80 and I queried it. He said he charged a minimum of an hr and a half to cover travel plus the rest on materials (about 30cm of pipe and a shut off, probably not £20 worth). None of this had been mentioned previously. I would not use Mates Rates again or recommend based on this overpriced job. Shame as he seemed ok.

The Job was priced for going to look at the work required getting and paying for the materials then returning to install the parts, materials came to £16.80 Labour came to £60 (£40 for the first Hr and £30 there on) + fuel. This was explained when I went to see the job and I feel that she had been given a fair price. Just because I was at the job for 30 mins does not mean the job took 30 mins.

Removing old flooring and laying new solid wood Flooring, new front porch step, new doors, taps, shower tiles and new shower.
Mark worked quickly and did an excellent job, and fitted his work around our timetable. He did the following: Removed old flooring and lay a new solid wood Flooring throughout the downstairs of the house, Built a new front porch step with black stone tiles New doors throughout the house New kitchen mixer tap Replaced old broken shower, putting in new shower tiles and new pumped mixer shower. Closed in our open staircase and redecorated the stair well.

New kitchen / bathroom and decoration throughout.
Very professional. Really cracked on with the work and was very flexible when I wanted to do a few additional pieces of work. Result is a very nice refurb with a nice new modern kitchen. Communication was excellent throughout.

Decorate bedroom, en suite and bathroom.
Mark deserves top marks for his workman ship. The job was completed in an efficient tidy manner in less time than expected. This is the first time I have used Mark`s services but will certainly use again.
