    House Rewiring

Extensive rewiring of our new house

This is the second time I've used Matt Payne Electrical, so I already knew how good they are. This time, we had ripped the entire house apart, so it needed someone who would see if the original thoughts on where everything was being installed would work. Blake did all the work, everything was thought through and he got the installation absolutely right with all his work completed to a very high standard. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

    Renew fuse board

What a great company. I had my fuse board replaced. From start to finish I was very impressed. The quote was sent across immediately and work booked for a week later. Blake explained everything to me, and kept me up to date with what he was doing. He was very courteous and hardworking. I am so pleased with the new fuse board, Blake went round and checked all sockets and switches in the house updating as he went along if he found anything wrong, I now feel so much safer as old fuse board was so old.

Find power source for the en-suite

Initial visit on the 17/2/21 to provide a quote and was asked if he could locate the power source for the en-suite bathroom. Failed to do so but sent a lad over the following day. He was as baffled as Matt. I then remembered that there was a small box opposite the bathroom and when we flicked the switch the power came on. Matt Payne Electrical Ltd did not win the work that was needed to be done, but they sent me a bill for £90.00 just for turning up and thinking about the problem. Is this sharp practice or a consolation prize for not winning the work? Watch yourself with these guys

    Response from Matt Payne Electrical

During the initial visit, where I was there to quote for other electrical works, we carried out some initial tests and investigations to see why the customer's power to the bathroom had been lost. This was not charged for and carried out on goodwill as an addition to the time spent doing the site survey for the other works. As the fault was not found during this initial look, the customer agreed to have one of our electricians be booked in to take a closer look at the problem. This we did. Over half an hour of testing and investigation was carried out on a seperate visit. By chance the customer remembered, after 30 minutes, there was an RCD board located in the bedroom (not the usual place for such an item). We simply charged for our working time. I don't feel it was unreasonable to charge for our time, at our minimum charge rate, to carry out electrical tests and investigations.
