    I wouldn't recommend this company

    I had them out to do two small jobs.The engineer came and told us which parts to buy.We tried to arrange for him to come back to complete the work,but he wasn't able to come on that date.I cancelled the next appointment for in a few days time.By this time I hadn't got faith they would treat me fairly.I have lost £117 and don't know whether to write it down to a bad experience,but as I am a pensioner I cannot.

    Thank you for choosing Ability. We are sorry that you feel that on this occasion we couldn't meet your expectations. Unfortunately our engineer was delayed by an emergency in another county, as well as external factors outside our control. We made our best effort to provide an alternative appointment time, a few days after our planned visit. This the earliest we could find without moving another customers appointment, which would not be fair to them for something that isn’t an emergency. At Ability we always strive to provide the best service possible, as evident by our many positive reviews.

    Replace bathroom mixer tap

    Work completed efficiently, bathroom was left clean and tidy afterwards. The tradesperson was polite and friendly. Would recommend this company as they were able to help me on the day I contacted them.

    Emergency repair on boiler because British Gas could not attend quickly

    Quick to respond and visit to do an emergency repair on my boiler. Helpful, knowledgeable engineer who did a professional job and recorded full details on invoice, photos and video. Excellent service all round.

    Came out to fix a leak

    After the fixed the leak which meant doing something with the boiler I had no hot water phoned to get there mistake sort another came out didn’t know enough about the 2 month old boiler they then had the nerve to charge and take the money out of my account without my permission for them trying to fix there cockup legal advice taken

    We attended on Monday 16th May. We replaced a thermostatic radiator valve, the system was refilled and tested by the engineer, and was working when he left. The customer waited until the Friday 20th May to say that he didn’t have hot water. We sent another engineer out, and they investigated the issue. Our engineer found that it was a warranty call covered by the boiler install, (which we did not install) and arranged a callout with the Boiler company on the customer’s behalf. When the second visit was booked it was made clear that if the problem was unrelated to our previous work, then it would be chargeable, to be processed on completion of work. We aim to be as transparent as possible with our pricings and are disappointed that on this occasion our customer is not satisfied with the service they received.

    Do not use this company

    Ability quoted to cut the existing above-ground pipes around the house and put them underground. On the engineer's 1st visit, he expected to see a trench dug by the customer, not mentioned in the quote emailed to me. How would the customer know how deep to go or how flexible the pipe is? After I had someone dig up the patio and take out the plants, Ability said gas pipelines DO NOT GO AROUND CORNERS; THEY ONLY GO IN STRAIGHT LINES? Why didn’t they tell me this at the beginning; so now they have all my copper pipes, and I have a dismantled garden. THEY HAVE WASTED MY MONEY AND MY TIME
